HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT:
As a National Account Manager focused on Hardware & Co-op channels, you will be responsible for developing and growing sales opportunities and account management of the Oregon product line for retailers within the hardware and co-ops channels in North America. You will be responsible for a portfolio of accounts which may include Ace Hardware, True Value, and Do It Best. In addition, you will lead the partnership, strategy, and ownership of three rep groups within your territory.
Remote: Home location can be anywhere within the US Central or Eastern time zones.
THE DETAILS:
- Account Management of retail customers with a primary focus on accounts like: Ace Hardware, True Value, and Do It Best
- Drive growth by identifying customer opportunities/product gaps and create systemized sales plans to support and execute
- Appropriately respond to customer calls and inquiries; resolve customer problems and issues in a timely and professional manner
- Conduct face to face meetings including presentations; present marketing and advertising programs for all products; prepare and present annual line reviews
- Ensure customer websites, catalogs and retail locations are up to date
- Act as a trusted advisor to your clients, share insights, and continually identify revenue opportunities
- Collaborate with product management to help define product direction and planning
- Utilizes best in class insights to develop customer strategies as they relate to the purchase behavior to maximize commercial opportunities
- Analyzes COGS, POS and market sales data to more effectively and strategically develop and execute solutions for SKU gaps or categories that are not performing to our expectations
- Develops and shares new ideas/innovation based on sales trends and insights
- Applies understanding of product portfolio, brand positioning, brand vision & strategy to sell-in and sell-through
- Establishes trust and credibility by demonstrating clear understanding of how the customer defines value and leverages this knowledge along with market insights to maximize demonstrated value of Oregon Tool to our customers
- Maintains a strong understanding of Oregon Tool goals, priorities, and account P&L (margin and mix) when managing accounts
- Leverages our brands and product mix to improve profitability and meet customer and Oregon tool targets
- Works demand planning to develop accurate sales forecasts and achieve specified levels of forecast accuracy
- Works collaboratively with finance and pricing to create value for the business and grow market share while improving profitability
- Uses internal systems and resources, as well as external where necessary, to access sales numbers including customer and market data, category sales and SKU level sales
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis on business, marketing, or business management
- 5+ years of consumer goods sales experience calling on retail accounts
- Experience within the hardware and co-op channels highly preferred
- Familiarity with presenting line reviews and marketing programs to retailers in partnership with product management and marketing teams
- Prior management experience or responsibility overseeing rep groups required
- Previous forecasting/P&L ownership required
- Collaborative and effective team player and able to work with teams cross-functionally (Main cross-functional partners: product management, marketing, demand planning, customer service, and finance)
- Ability to translate specific goals into action and follow through to achieve goals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and data management software (SAP preferred)
- Available to travel several times per year up to two weeks’ duration (up to 50% travel)

The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Oregon Tool, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $110,000 to $135,000.
