HIGHLIGHTS:

Hourly Rate: $24.53/hr

Shift: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm  

 

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT:

The EHS and Training Coordinator will apply continuous improvement methodology to environmental, health and safety management at the North American Distribution Facility to enhance regulatory compliance, encourage a culture of safety and environmental responsibility, assist with EHS costs, and engage with internal and external customers. In addition, this position is responsible for assisting with the implementation, supporting and maintaining effective training tools and materials for On-the-Job teaching. This individual will model exemplary performance including safe work habits and job knowledge of distribution operations. This role will promote safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvements through the knowledge and use of our training system.

 

THE DETAILS:

Safety Improvement and Workplace Risk Reductions

  • Assess workplace conditions for hazards and potential risks. Support and implement corrective measures.
  • Assist with analyzing incidents, risk assessments, and S.A.F.E. Cards through digital tracking methods, i.e., Tool Shed and Safety Dashboard.
  • Provide recommendations for reducing risk based on OSHA regulations and compliance.
  • Assist with projects assigned, including justification, financial controls, cost, and performance.
  • Support the review and maintenance of written environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs and associated record keeping.
  • Partner with departments on the coordination and instruction of safety training.
  • Coordinate and assist with the Emergency Action Plan for the facility.
  • Coordinate with EHS/Training Supervisor and service providers to ensure annual safety and compliance requirements.

Training  

  • Assist with design and development of interactive training programs (outsourced or in-house) for corporate, safety training, compliance training, etc.
  • Assist with selecting the best training methods or activities for a particular purpose and audience (e.g., role-playing, mentoring, on-the-job training, professional development classes, etc.)
  • Market training opportunities to team members in an engaging and compelling way that provides all necessary information and entices participation
  • Identify skills or knowledge gaps that needs addressed, looking at the NADC as a whole (leadership to hourly)
  • Uphold best practices and corporate education principles for training
  • Assist in the development, implementation, tracking and training methods and their effectiveness across departments and shifts.
  • Design and prepare educational aids and materials as needed
  • Measure instructional effectiveness and generate summative evaluation reports with the goal of defining the impact of training on team member skills and KPIs
  • Facilitate train-the-trainer sessions for in-house experts/trainers
  • Oversee and maintain in-house training facilities and necessary equipment.

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three to Five years of experience in the distribution/warehouse environment is preferred
  • Ability to obtain certification on all 3 Powered Industrial Trucks (Reach, Order Picker & Sit-down)
  • Some experience with safety training, accident investigations, and risk assessments is preferred.
  • Ability to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional, and quality manner.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly in technical and non-technical terms.
  • Collaborative and effective team player able to work with all team members in all departments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Windows operations; experience in organizational database systems, SAP experience preferred.

 

AVAILABILITY: 

  • Available to work on site as required for the position
  • Day Shift: Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm. 
  • Second Shift support as needed: 10:00am to 6:30pm 
  • Additional overtime may be necessary to support business needs; reasonable notice will be given.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities, other duties may be assigned as business and department needs determined.
