HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

This role will be part of a centralized Compliance team within the Global Logistics Organization and will be responsible for ensuring compliance in all import and FTZ related activities for Oregon Tool, Inc. This position will work under the direction of the Director of Global Logistics and Trade Compliance and will build and maintain effective relationships with cross-functional teams at multiple locations as well as external Customs Brokers to facilitate Oregon Tool’s Customs related activities and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

 

THE DETAILS

Customs Compliance and Duty Management (40%)

  • Audit U.S. and Canada customs entries, maintain accurate records, and identify duty savings opportunities.

  • Manage FTA qualifications and regulatory processes, including corrections and disclosures.

Classification Management (20%)

  • Assign and maintain product classifications in a global database, ensuring consistency and compliance.

Customs Inquiries and Issue Resolution (15%)

  • Respond to customs broker and internal inquiries to prevent delays and ensure smooth operations.

Import Traffic Monitoring (15%)

  • Track shipments, resolve documentation issues, and communicate delays to stakeholders.

Administrative and Logistics Support (10%)

  • Provide backup for FTZ administration, create import/export documents, and assist with month-end tasks.

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Customs compliance; Broker’s License is a plus.

Technical Expertise

  • Proficient in HTS classification with a deep understanding of Customs regulations and requirements.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems (SAP preferred).

AVAILABILITY

Available to work on site as required by job; eligible for domestic and international travel with up to one weeks’ duration. This position will be flexible to a hybrid schedule upon completion of training. 

 

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Washington, Colorado, Nevada, California, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, Oregon Tool is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Oregon Tool, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $47,000 - $62,000.
