HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for providing effective, pro-active and responsive onsite management for a wide variety of human resources activities.  Key responsibilities include recruiting and selection, new hire orientation and onboarding, employee relations, supporting performance management, training and development, leave and absence administration, injured worker/workers’ compensation, ADA administration, and benefits support. This position supports compliance with policies, provides analysis and recommendations to supervisors and managers, and promotes best practices in performing human resources activities.

 

THE DETAILS:

  • Recruiting & Onboarding: Collaborate with plant supervisors to manage recruitment, screening, interviewing, and selection of candidates. Oversee new-hire orientation and onboarding processes.
  • Employee Relations & Compliance: Support employees on HR matters, resolve issues, assist with policy interpretation, and ensure compliance with labor regulations. Conduct exit interviews and maintain personnel records.
  • Performance & Engagement: Assist in performance management, coordinate employee engagement activities, and manage internal communications, including newsletters and milestone awards.
  • Leave & Benefits Administration: Serve as the subject matter expert for leave administration (FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation). Partner with vendors, track claims, communicate leave status, and support benefits enrollment and wellness programs.
  • Communication & Documentation: Maintain accurate records, ensure timely company updates, and oversee internal communications, including bulletin boards.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP Certification and/or additional coursework in HR preferred.
  • 5 + years of effective, proactive and responsive onsite management for a wide variety of HR activities such as recruiting and selection, policy administration, employee relations, leave and absence management, risk management (workers’ compensation), employee relations, benefit and compensation administration, and performance management.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of HR functions and best practices in area of specialty focus.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment, leave and absence, and benefit laws.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to develop respectful relationships with all team members.
  • Sense of urgency, ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Solve problems analytically; search out relevant information and gauge its importance when making decisions.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), ADP, and data management software (SAP preferred).
  • Domestic travel 10%

 

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Washington, Colorado, Nevada, California, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Illinois and Connecticut, Oregon Tool is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Oregon Tool, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000 to $70,000.
