HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

Under limited supervision, responsibilities include product line shop scheduling, releasing purchase orders to suppliers and work orders to production, rescheduling orders, expedition orders from suppliers and manufacturing departments.  Duties also include implementation of ECOs and controlling RIP/WIP and finished goods inventory levels.  Promises customer orders, determines shipment goals for monthly SIOP process and allocates inventory to customer orders.  Works with Transportation to ensure timely flow of inbound and outbound freight.   Level II requires a complete understanding of complex parts and processes to completion at both the work order and customer order level.

 

THE DETAILS

  • Maintain valid due dates on work orders based on material and capacity available.
  • Promise delivery of customer orders as well as communicate repromised orders due to lateness or change of schedule.
  • Analyze requirements generated from planning system.
  • Generate change orders and cancellations to open purchase orders.  Generate changes and cancellations to work orders.
  • Review recommended purchase order reschedule report and communicate required date changes to suppliers.  Review work order reschedule report, make changes to work orders and communicate to the floor.  Update priority list with hot jobs.
  • Review supplier acknowledgements for items where supplier promise dates disagree with our required date.  Work with suppliers to get dates in agreement.  Daily communicate with team leaders to review schedule and make adjustments as needed. 
  • General system maintenance of purchase orders.  Logging communication notes from conversations with suppliers and internal personnel…
  • Assist in correcting receipt errors and invoicing discrepancies.
  • Follow up with suppliers to resolve open PO issues.  Follow-up with team leader to discuss past due work orders/ priority jobs.
  • Responsible for accurate work order closing to minimize material variances.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve rejections of parts, enter return to vendor transactions and arrange for replacement parts on a expedited basis when necessary.
  • Regularly communicate with suppliers regarding all aspects of timely ordering and receiving of goods for Woods production.
  • Assist in implementing ECO changes that affect buy and make parts. (adjusting order quantities, coordinating incoming goods, making smooth transition from discontinued part to new part.
  • Responsible for coordinating Special Project work orders as required.
  • Monitor product lot sizes, safety stock levels, production run quantities and Kanban quantities
  • Ensure that production schedule from SIOP agrees with SAP schedule to drive material and manpower planning.
  • Review and promise incoming customer orders according to planned production schedule.
  • Communicate to internal customers changes in schedule.
  • Enter inter-branch orders
  • Performing other job duties are required 

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Two- or four-year degree in Business or Operations Management or equivalent experience a plus.  APICS Ce desired.
  • 1-5 yrs in Production Control.

The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Oregon Tool, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $54,000 - $60,000.
