Hourly Rate: $22.10 - $24.50
Shift: Monday - Thursday; 5a - 330p
HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT
Under supervision, welds components together in a production environment.
THE DETAILS

Under guidance, positions material to be welded and apply hand-eye coordination to achieve the desired weld.

Make acceptable welds when shown procedures and locations

Responsible for condition of weld fixture and dimensional accuracy of weldment

Able to weld in flat and horizontal positions to specification

Materials welded may include steel, or other alloys, and the methods may include metal insert gas and gas-metal arc welding

Notify lead or supervisor when weld fixture needs repair or adjustment

All-position welding may be required. The variety of applications requires an ability to plan, layout and perform diversified work

Includes high pressure and code welding or other work involving critical safety and load requirements or welding where appearance is critical.

Regulates heat and feed and may select electrodes, and tips

Works from specifications, drawings, prints and welding symbols.

Look for ways to improve and promote quality.

Meet productivity standards and complete work in a timely manner

Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: \
- High school or equivalent (GED). Six months to one-year of related experience or training such as a combination of technical training in welding, certification or on the job-related experience

Required to pass Welder I level internal weld test
-
Follow safety rules and procedures and wear personal protective equipment

Keeps weld curtains in place to protect others
-
Keeps work area clean.

Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional and quality manner.

Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms. Ability to verbally communicate with co-workers in all areas of the plant

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, general policies, instructions, and procedure manuals.

Observe safety and security procedures, reporting unsafe conditions when necessary.

Demonstrate ability and willingness to learn; seek out development activities to improve skills and increase knowledge; learn from other team members and own mistakes.

Crosstrain and work in other departments as necessary.

Welders work a 40-hour week, plus overtime as required to meet production schedules. Overtime will be based on production demands.
