HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT:
The Credit Manager manages Oregon Tool's Portland-based credit function, including establishing credit limits for new customers, controlling credit exposure by monitoring customers' financial conditions and payment performance, and developing and implementing credit/collection policies and procedures. This role also supervises the credit and accounts receivable staff and oversees their work.
THE DETAILS:
Responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounts receivable operations, including cash application, reconciliations, collections, credit risk assessment, and policy compliance. Key duties include:
- Cash Application & Reconciliation: Ensure accurate and timely application of customer payments and alignment with the General Ledger; supervise daily/monthly reconciliations.
- A/R Monitoring: Regularly review A/R aging, oversee collections activity, and manage A/R reserves for bad debt and credits
- Closing & Reporting: Manage month-end close processes related to customer accounts and prepare relevant reports for leadership
- Credit Operations: Approve credit-related documents (e.g., Letters of Credit, order releases), oversee delinquent accounts, and coordinate with legal/collections on escalations or bankruptcies
- Policy Administration: Maintain and enforce policies such as Credit, Customer Deduction Write-Off, KYC, AML, and SOPs for the Credit/AR function
- Customer Onboarding: Oversee new customer setup, assign risk categories, ensure due diligence/compliance, set credit terms/limits, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely onboarding
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance is preferred
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent college course work in Business, Accounting or Finance is required
- NACM Certification preferred
- 10+ years of prior credit experience and 5+ years of supervisory experience required
- Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms
- Collaborative and effective team player and able to work with teams who are globally dispersed
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and data management software (SAP preferred)
At Oregon Tool, we provide a reasonable, good-faith estimate of the compensation range for this role of $105,000 to $115,000. Final offers are based on various factors such as experience, skills, qualifications and internal equity. This range may vary based on geographic location where the position is filled, and most new hires are not typically hired at the top of the range.
