HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

The Database Administrator serves as a technical subject matter expert within several assigned areas of responsibility for infrastructure architecture, systems implementation and administration, and development for database management systems.

The DBA is responsible for designing and managing database management systems to support business needs and maintain data integrity, security, and availability.

This position works closely with infrastructure and network engineers, information technology architects, business analysts, developers, and systems administrators to implement and maintain data services and transports for applications and services.

 

THE DETAILS

  • Lead administration, configuration, optimization, and maintenance of Microsoft SQL Server and related RDBM Systems across Windows and Linux operating systems hosted in physical, virtual, and cloud environments
  • Design, implement, and manage schemes for security, disaster recovery, backup, performance monitoring, multi-tiered environments, service continuity, high‑availability, operational resilience, service provisioning, and change management for enterprise database systems
  • Architect, develop, and support database schema, queries, automations, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, reporting, and system‑to‑system data integrations
  • Partner with business stakeholders, IT engineers, developers, analysts, and external vendors to support business systems objectives, troubleshoot issues, execute migrations, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with internal and external standards

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience, with 5–10+ years of hands‑on Microsoft SQL Server 2014–2025 administration
  • Advanced expertise in SQL Server performance tuning, troubleshooting, T‑SQL development, execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, and high‑availability technologies
  • Strong experience with Windows Server administration, PowerShell automation, database architecture, schema design, and data lifecycle management
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly, collaborate with globally distributed teams, and perform effectively in high‑pressure environments
  • Experience supporting SAP R3 ERP / BASIS systems with Microsoft SQL back-ends and/or S4/HANA is a plus 

 

AVAILABILITY

This position is remote. The role requires availability to work on site as needed based on business requirements and includes eligibility for domestic and international travel several times per year, for durations of up to two weeks.

 

 

At Oregon Tool, we provide a reasonable, good-faith estimate of the compensation range for this role of $100,000 - $125,000. Final offers are based on various factors such as experience, skills, qualifications and internal equity. This range may vary based on geographic location where the position is filled, and most new hires are not typically hired at the top of the range.
