HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT: 

As a Demand Planning Analyst, you are a strategic business planner who forecasts worldwide customer demand through the compilation and analysis of various internal and external data. You use statistical and advanced forecasting techniques to facilitate long term planning, capacity planning, sourcing, and inventory strategies.  As a Demand Planning Analyst, you will also develop critical forecast processes, investigate worldwide sales trends/opportunities, optimize forecast accuracy, and provide strategic recommendations to senior management regarding current and future demand. You will report to the Demand Planning Manager.

 

THE DETAILS: 

  • Utilizing advanced forecasting techniques to predict future sales, create and communicate global unit and dollar forecasts at appropriate levels and intervals
  • Structure data gathering activities.  Collect, analyze and consolidate large volume of data (including, but not limited to global and regional demand/sales history, global channel inventories, economic indicators, weather trends, retail sales, promotional activity) to develop statistical models, and a fact-based point of view
  • Generate and use reports and trend analysis to determine areas of concern and to monitor/improve forecast accuracy
  • Monitor, analyze, and adjust forecasts based on input from global sales, marketing, business segments, or management to ensure demand plans based on the best information available
  • Collaborate with and lead monthly meetings with Sales & Marketing to review, monitor, and build a consensus forecast
  • Develop, build, and implement overall demand forecast process that will contribute and add value to the Sales, and Operations Planning (S&OP) process
  • Coordinate and communicate with global sales, marketing, business segments, and management to build and manage consensus for forecasts and then communicate those forecasts through reports and presentations
  • Communicate business changes to Supply Chain/Planning to ensure optimal product availability, and customer demand is met
  • Present forecast overview, assumptions, accuracy, and other directional information in monthly S&OP meeting
  • Communicate externally with key accounts in partnership with sales
  • Consult with senior leadership regarding forecast, demand data, and reports

   

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Finance or other analytical discipline required, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of global forecasting experience in a multi-national company required
  • Strong computer, database, and system skills with proficiency in spreadsheet, presentation, database tools (Microsoft Office Suite preferred), and forecasting software/systems required
  • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel and enjoys working in it
  • Solid understanding of forecasting methods and applications, including statistical modeling
  • Knowledge of sales, marketing, operations, and financial practices, and Sales, and Operations Planning process (S&OP)
  • Strong verbal, written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate assumptions, methods, and results to peers and management
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical skills, detail-orientation, independent thinking, and organizational skills required
  • Knowledge/experience with enterprise resource software system (SAP preferred)
  • You do not need to possess 100% of these qualities to be considered

 

AVAILABILITY:

  • This position is hybrid and as such, this individual must be available to work on site 2-3 days per week as required by job.
  • Eligible for domestic and international travel several times per year up to two weeks’ duration.

 

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Washington, Colorado, Nevada, California, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, Oregon Tool is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Oregon Tool, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $62,000 to $78,000.
