HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT:

The Sales Operations Manager - Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) has a central role in coordinating all the activities to serve and support our Lawn & Garden and Forestry OEM customers, ensuring that OEM customers have a successful experience when they interact with the company.  This is a role with large cross functional interactions (Sales, Product Marketing, Finance, Manufacturing, R&D, Quality, and Procurement), with all the OEM customers worldwide, with all Oregon Tool production and distribution sites.  This role entails frequent direct communication with OEM customers regarding technical and operational support.

 

THE DETAILS:

  • Support sales team with contract negotiations (MSA; Master Supply Agreeement) through collaboration with corporate legal team. Liaise with functional areas for input (Logistics, PS&C, Finance, Engineering).
  • Managing PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), including coordinating with product line managers, Engineering and compliance to get production samples, PSW (Part Submission Warrant) / ISIR (Initial Sample Inspection Report) documentation and OEM drawings.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI): support sales team to ensure the necessary data is provided in full to product teams through BRI (Bar Request Information) and CRI (Chain Request Information) forms. Also, work with product management to develop specific OEM sales support material.
  • Ensure pricing alignment between strategic pricing team, product team and sales team execution through pricing configurator usage and maintenance.
  • Support the sales team with interactions with the customers on an as needed basis. Coordinate product testing and report out with the lab and sales team.
  • Support planning and forecasting needs by providing regular global input on OEM demand trends. Support allocation process when needed according to strategic growth goals.
  • Support product life cycle (PLC) and SKU productivity efforts through ongoing involvement with the sales and product teams to reach company’s goals.
  • Handle quality claims. Populate 8D reports and develop resolution plan with the customer in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate OEM customer communication globally with the sales team, including price increase notifications and justifications, product discontinuations, plant change notification, production capacity information etc.
  • Support and coordinate OEM technical trainings with Sales, Technical Services, and Marketing
  • Coordinate and support OEM customer visits with Technical Services, Marketing, and Engineering
  • Central point of contact to provide the necessary compliance data and certificates/declaration to support OEM’s compliance PS&C needs. (Reach, Rohs, Prop-65, Long term COO declaration, EU and plastic Recycling acts, Conflict Minerals…). Requires cross-functional work with legal and product line functions.
  • Maintain OEM archive: track and record all the agreements in place with all OEMs; pricing agreements, NDA, JDA (list, expiration date etc.)
  • Conduct weekly calls with OEM sales team and product marketing to follow up on and address technical, quality, and customer service issues
  • Interface between field and Quality, Technical Services (CRM cases), and Portland office

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline required, Master’s Degree a plus
  • 7 + years of experience in a global manufacturing environment, preferably in product line management, marketing, manufacturing, sales or related discipline required
  • Experience establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships; strategically partners to build and maintain profitable customer relationships
  • Collaborative and effective team player; able to work with teams who are globally dispersed
  • Creative problem solver; able to envision and reach solutions through existing systems and company resources
  • Take initiative, seek and act on opportunities to improve organization performance
  • Ability to translate specific goals into action and follow through to achieve goals
  • Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional and quality manner
  • Solve problems analytically; search out relevant information and gauge its importance when making decisions
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and data management software (SAP preferred)
  • Available to work on site as required by job; eligible for domestic and international travel several times per year up to two weeks’ duration.

 

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Washington, Colorado, Nevada, California, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, Oregon Tool is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Oregon Tool, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $105,000 to $125,000.
