We are seeking an experienced and dynamic full-time Quality Engineer, to join our team in Portland, Oregon.


The role in a nutshell:


The Quality Engineer II designs and implements quality control and quality assurance methods, facilitates use of quality tools, and leads quality improvement projects. This position works with engineers, department managers and teams to implement tools and complete projects.


What you’ll do:


    • Supports the design and implementation of the Quality Management System at the Portland location
    • Designs and implement quality control methods throughout the factory
    • Consults on proper use of quality tools, including statistical process control, gauge capability, designed experiments, sampling, and reliability
    • Delivers and support the design of quality training material to a variety of audiences
    • Supports and lead Corrective Action efforts
    • Supports cross functional teams to introduce and qualify new products and processes
    • Leads internal quality audits, train internal auditors, and improve internal quality audit system and procedures
    • Investigates internal and external customer complaints
    • Assists with the investigation of quality issues
    • Develops test plans and statistical tests to support various organization objectives
    • Takes direction on evaluating and measurably improving quality processes
    • Help establish and implement new standards, thought processes, strategies while leading special projects



What you have:


    • Bachelor degree in a related technical field required
    • Has training in basic lean principles and concepts
    • Understands key business drivers, uses this understanding to accomplish own work
    • Trained in Lean Six Sigma concepts/tools
    • Has limited understanding of general business principles
    • Quality tools experience (PFMEA, Gauge R&R, SPC, process capability analysis, Problem Solving Tools, etc.)
    • Experience with ISO 9001
    • Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional and quality manner
    • Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems; analyzes information and standard practices to make judgments
    • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn; seek out development activities to improve skills and increase knowledge; learn from other team members and own mistakes
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and data management software (SAP preferred); control charting and statistical software



    • Available to work on site as required by job
