HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT
The Technical Accounting Manager is an individual contributor responsible for leading the company’s technical accounting, corporate accounting policy, and internal audit functions. This role requires deep US GAAP technical expertise, a high level of motivation, attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a collaborative approach to partnering across the organization.
THE DETAILS
- Drive Technical Accounting Excellence: Research, interpret, and document complex accounting issues under U.S. GAAP. Develop, maintain, and implement corporate accounting policies to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Lead Internal Controls and Audit Initiatives: Oversee the internal audit program, assess and strengthen internal controls, and support internal audit readiness. Provide expert accounting guidance on key business transactions and strategic initiatives.
- Champion Process Improvement and Governance: Identify and implement process enhancements, automation, and system improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and transparency across accounting operations.
- Foster Clear Communication and Collaboration: Deliver clear, well-documented accounting guidance, policy updates, and training while maintaining open communication across departments to support informed financial decisions.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Certified Accounting Expertise: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with an active CPA license and 4–5+ years in public accounting (Big 4 required); experience in corporate technical accounting or public company environments preferred.
- Technical Mastery: Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and internal control frameworks (COSO); proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Analytical & Communication Strength: Proven ability to interpret and clearly communicate complex accounting issues, exercise sound judgment, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Known for initiative, integrity, and a collaborative mindset—adept at mentoring others, driving process improvement, and thriving within globally dispersed teams.
AVAILABILITY
Available onsite in a hybrid capacity as required by job; eligible for domestic and international travel several times per year up to two weeks’ duration.
At Oregon Tool, we provide a reasonable, good-faith estimate of the compensation range for this role of $135,000 - $150,000. Final offers are based on various factors such as experience, skills, qualifications and internal equity. This range may vary based on geographic location where the position is filled, and most new hires are not typically hired at the top of the range.
