HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

The successful candidate will provide technical support and progressive tooling maintenance services for the multi-shift blanking and heading operations of Saw Chain Manufacturing.

 

THE DETAILS

  • Safety and Cleanliness:  Commitment to Safe working practices and maintaining a clean workstation.
  • Tooling Maintenance and Repair:  Maintain, sharpen, and repair progressive stamping tooling, recondition tooling components, and perform precision surface grinding, polishing, and lapping of die components as well as fit and assembly of dies.
  • Press and Die Troubleshooting:  Troubleshoot press and header/die tooling problems and assist on press set-up functions.
  • Process Improvement:  Investigate and eliminate causes of variation within the blanking and heading tooling and provide technical support for training and process improvement activities.
  • Equipment Maintenance:  Maintain department equipment and records, recondition chucks, monitor and replace coolant, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Precision Measurement:  Precision measure die components to ensure quality and performance (+/-.0002).
  • Attention to Detail:  Perform tedious tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.

 

 SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Must demonstrate the ability to complete a minimum of 30 credit hours in Machine Technology

  • Punch press setup/operate conventional and/or high-speed punch press preferred

  • Header setup and operational skills preferred

  • The ability to pay close attention to detail and basic math proficiency

  • General machining knowledge + Familiar in the use of precision gauges and measuring equipment

  • Respectable communication skills and working as a team

The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Oregon Tool, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $30/hr - $35/hr
