HOW TO MAKE AN IMPACT

The Fabricator Welder CII fabricates and welds various types of sheet metal using Metal Inert Gas (MIG), soldering, tacking, and brazing techniques. Uses Computer Aided Drawing specifications, Bill of Materials (BOM), work instructions and documented procedures to produce a quality part. Responsible for maintaining assigned welding equipment. Assists and trains other Team Members on safe welding operations.

 

DUTIES 

·       Perform Technical Welding Operations (75%)
Set up and operate welding equipment (MIG, TIG, soldering, tacking, and brazing) to meet production specifications. Interpret drawings, diagrams, and work instructions to align, fit, and fabricate parts, ensuring quality and safety standards are met. Perform basic machine maintenance and use SAP to document materials and workflows.

·       Support Plant Safety and Compliance
Consistently follow all plant safety procedures and compliance requirements. Maintain a clean and organized workstation, replace consumables, and safely handle materials and equipment in line with company and manufacturer guidelines.

·       Drive Continuous Improvement Initiatives (25%)
Actively participate in Lean manufacturing practices, including 5S activities, Daily Management System (DMS) routines, and continuous improvement events. Track and manage workstation inventory and contribute to process optimization.

·       Collaborate and Communicate Effectively
Maintain open communication with team members, provide input through documentation and discussions, and assist in training new employees and peers to ensure knowledge sharing and operational consistency.

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

·       Education and Certifications
High school diploma or GED required. Completion of a Gas Metal Arc Welding Certificate (24+ credit hours) or equivalent experience in welding processes such as Oxyacetylene, Arc I/II, Blueprint Reading, Welded Metal Fabrication, and Gas Metal Arc.

·       Welding and Manufacturing Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including 4+ years welding various sheet metals using MIG, TIG, soldering, tacking, and brazing techniques. Experience with press brakes and laser equipment is preferred.

·       Technical and Computer Skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), SAP data management systems, and basic Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD) tools. Comfortable with computer keyboarding and documentation tasks.

·       Personal and Team Effectiveness
Strong attention to detail, dependability, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrates initiative, integrity, and a continuous learning mindset. Effective communicator and team player with the ability to train and support other team members.
