HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

 

The Manufacturing Specialist III operates various hand tools and equipment to clean, powder coat, and assemble purchased, made, or preassembled mechanical parts into finished product. The Manufacturing Specialist ensures product quality using Bill of Materials (BOM), drawing specifications, work instructions, and documented procedures. Responsible for maintaining assigned workstation and tools. Assists with training Team Members on safe cleaning, powder coating, and assembly process and procedures. The Manufacturing Specialist continuously seeks opportunities to improve processes to meet customer demand.

 

DETAILS

 

  • Safely assemble, repair, and support production of gearboxes and mechanical components by following documented work instructions, safety standards, and quality procedures
  • Operate hand tools, cranes, hoists, and material‑handling equipment while maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant workstation
  • Use SAP and production orders to retrieve documentation, track materials, record nonconforming product, prioritize workflow, and communicate shortages or issues
  • Support continuous improvement through Lean and 5S activities, inventory management, cross‑training, root‑cause problem solving, and collaboration with Engineering and Production teams

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • High school diploma or GED required; coursework in Automotive or Advanced Manufacturing Technology or equivalent hands‑on experience preferred
  • 4+ years in a manufacturing environment with 3+ years of mechanical experience, including assembly, repair, hydraulics/pneumatics, presses, or powder coating
  • Proficient with mechanical hand and power tools, SAP or similar systems, production documentation, and basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, CAD preferred)
  • Detail‑oriented, dependable team player with strong problem‑solving, communication, math, and reading skills, and the ability to train others and support continuous improvement
